Top 10 Post #1

So I was looking online to see what I can blog about. I wanted to write at least one post a day. And I wanted to write about something that you will get to know me, and easy to write about. Then I thought "Why not Top 10 Lists?" And it's about something I am so passionate about, KPOP. The first two lists I will be doing are my two favourite groups. Top 10 DBSK & SNSD songs up to date. They were my first two KPOP groups, boys and girls respectively. SNSD list will be in another post as I noticed it's alot of words for one post :P

Top 10 DBSK Songs from Performances
(This will be choices in both Japanese and Korean songs)

10. Proud (Japanese)
This song really hit it home for me when they finitears shed their FITB tour. During this song, Yoochun, Junsu, Jaejoong and even Yunho had  tears in their eyes. Yoochun being the resident cry baby, he couldn't even sing his part. The song marked the beginning of their rising fame in Japan. They had to go through so much to get to that concert. Although the lyrics were pointed towards a past lover, it really described the guys. Vocally, the boys were able to show off their stuff. Even for Yunho who isn't really a fantastic singer, was able to get through this song sounding... normal? Better? It is just a really good song.
"We met by chance along this road
Even now I can’t forget, ever since that day
Much of the sorrow and anxiety I held
Everything had been changed
Through the warmth of your memories
Proud of your love"

9. Hug
Nostalgia hits when you hear this song, as it is their first Korean single. Back then they were just young boys. This song was awesome to begin with, and then at the FITB concert, they sang this acapella and it was perfect. Song talks about innocent love, where they really want to be with somebody, and that they would love somebody and give everything to them. This song is solely here because it is their debut song.

"I want to you give you everything in this world
Even if it would only be in my dreams"

8. Are You a Good Girl
This song came off their last album as five, the album where they proved to the KPOP world that they have grown up. This is a dance track, clubbing track, whatever it may be, it makes you move. The performance for this song was sexy, something not very often portrayed by DBSK. It was easier to see them as men on stage. The song talks about a girl who is unsatisfied with everything they give her. With the dance more focused on footwork rather than big motions, they were able to deliver their lines no problem. The performance I'm mostly referring to is the 2008 Golden Disk Awards. The only thing I didn't really like was the outfits they were given. Sexy as they were, the pattern was a bit weird.

7. Maximum
This is the only song I like from the DB2K album that is worth putting on the list. Don't get me wrong, it's not that the songs are bad per say, but this performance was what really caught my attention. The song is a dance track, not meant to be sung while dancing. The whole beat and dance of it was perfect. With the duo, they were still able to pull off such a difficult dance song is impressive. I prefer this song to Keep Your Head Down as it was more singing than rapping.

6. Sky & Somebody to Love
(This technically is two songs, but they merged it into one)
This was a remix at their Tokyo Dome concert. Somebody to Love was their debut song in Japan, and Sky is such an upbeat song. Through this song it brought the house down. Definitely a good choice to name as Summer Anthem. Although there are complaints in regards to the English rapping *ahem Yoochun and Yunho* it's a song that is up beat yet shows off their vocals. The harmonizing shone through this song. Especially at the concert they were able to do the harmonization and even put their own twist on it. While watching the concert, I was so tempted to wave my hands and sing along (while I'm alone in my room watching through the computer screen). Somebody to Love is just plain nostalgia for them. Although they were not immediately successful, like Hug, it was their first song ever in Japan. The mood they created through the transition  got everybody swinging their towels around. In Japan, the towels are equivalent to the glow sticks at the Korean concerts.
"Because the sun is above us right now shining endlessly,
Believe me, this summer isn't gonna end til eternity.
It's all right to keep enjoying those feelings you like, everything's all right
We can do anything, reaching out for the hot world." - Sky

5. Summer Dream
Another summer song. The "Whoa oh uh oh~" got you singing along and again, makes it feel like it's summer, no matter the time of year it is. The entire stage itself is very energetic and fun, and the singing is fantastic especially at the chorus. When they were performing this song, they always looked as if they were having a blast, making you want to join in. But again, my complaint in this song is "U-Know time" and Chunnie's barely audible end of rap. And I think the plus to this song is that even with a live band, it sounds like the recording, like how awesome is that? Then near the end of the performance there is a 'Junsu time'. Where he would stand at the front of the stage and do whatever dance he felt like doing, and TohDan would have to follow. It's hilarious as it is total fan service. ^^

4. Lover in the Ice
This song on the CD is not anything really special, then they went Soul Power in Osaka to perform this live, and it was almost the first time I thought "OMG THESE BOYS REALLY CAN SING!" In this song they reached almost both ends of the octave, with some uber deep notes, then Chunnie's note that goes off into the space. This also showed the Japanese people that they're not just pretty faces, they have talent too! This song made me so proud of them.
"My heart is pained
Because this love is so beautiful, don’t be afraid
Even if it’s just momentarily, I’ll let you know my love
This time is beautiful, you know… let you know my love"

3. Rising Sun
My brother voted for this song too. (I asked him and secretly posting his thought up here with mine too ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ) This was an epic song, performance and vocal wise. Although Jaejoong was injured for most of the promotions, his presence was not lacking. My favourite part in this entire song is Changmin's "You know why" and his scream. Just super awesome. Back when they released this, they set a new standard for all artists debuting afterward. Being able to sing and dance at the same time, and at such a standard.

2. Bolero
Yes, another Japanese single. This is a more 'recent' track you can say. 2008? It is one of their last ballads together as five. The vocal range for this song was so broad, yet Yunho was able to sound in place. THAT is a feat. The song is a very beautiful song on its own, and their harmonizing became a plus. They performed thsis song at the Ontana Carnival, and it was basically perfect. Junsu's voice is very fitted for this song, and that is one of the reasons why love this song. Any song that can showcase Junsu's voice is beautiful.

1. Mirotic + Wrong Number
This combination of songs definitely tops my list. I think it was the 2008 Gayo Daejun and Mnet? that they performed this number. (hehe) Although Wrong Number isn't really a good song, performance wise it is a better song because of the choreography (Jaejoong's first time rapping was NOT impressive because he rhymed fish with cash. How does that even end up in a song anyway?) Especially the symphony remix of it, with the dance break in between. Then there was that one performance after Mirotic where they just pulled their shirt open and revealed their back. Fan girl moment. When I watched it I basically fell off my chair. Mirotic is another dance track, but it really did showcase off their voices Besides, it was their last Korean song together as 5, and it just rings in my head more.

Enough posting, this has made me all emoshinki :(
Hope you enjoyed it! I'm pertty sure I blabbed on and on about the same thing. Sorry! Next time it will be better :D
